The Aurora Film Festival is an annual celebration of independent cinema, held in Reykjavik, Iceland. Now approaching its 15th edition, the festival has become known for spotlighting emerging voices from the Arctic and Nordic regions, with a strong emphasis on innovation, cultural identity, and environmental storytelling.

This conceptual project explores a refreshed brand identity and visual direction for the 2025 edition, themed “New Light.” The aim was to imagine how the festival might visually evolve as it enters its next chapter — capturing both the natural beauty of Iceland and the creative energy of contemporary cinema.

The project includes poster and logo design, a symbolic collage, and a modular visual language intended for use across digital, print, and environmental applications — all grounded in a theme of emergence, atmosphere, and place. I wanted to develop a visual identity and poster design that captures the festival’s core spirit: emergence, innovation, and the transformative power of storytelling.
